Alexandria's sewer system have been vulnerable to stormwater for decades and causing a long lasting water pollution at the river next to the city, Potomac River. The change in condition of sewer system in Alexandria needs commitment from us.

What is Stormwater Pollution?

Stormwater pollution is chemical industrial materials or household garbages are drained to the gutter, sewer or straight in to the water source nearby. While these pollutants are carried by the stormwater as a form of runoff.

There are many actions that we can take to solve the pollution problem, some are actions that every household could do, small but makes big difference. For factory building selective permeable screen on the outlet of the sewers of factory as will as renovations of antiquated sewer systems. In addition there are also SeWEr company original action plan.

A different Way to Maintain our actions

Government involvement is crucial in order to maintain. Local Alexandria government need to enact law restriction in specific areas to ensure the long-lasting and changes.
